The Economist on blogs

Econblog
This week’s edition of The Economist has an article on blogs. I’m nowhere near as impressed with this article as I was with its recent look at public relations. I think the problem is that it contains nothing that other ‘elite’ business media haven’t already said.

Still it’s "the world’s most popular magazine of its type among CEOs" so doubtless I’ll be quoting it in future.

When I left Silicon Valley, getting into the Economist was the business-media-relations fad of the time. (For some reason, the business-media-relations fad is a PR phenomenon that I haven't encountered to quite the same degree anywhere else.) In other words, if your PR program didn't get you into the Economist, YOU FAILED MISERABLY!!11!1!

But then a heck of a lot of CEOs have never heard of blogs and care even less.
