Hi Urs, thanks for commenting. I guessed the "confusing" element might have been down to length, great that you managed to pack so much in!

On the "expensive" I still think that it is less than the equivalent time that a CEO could have to spend to prepare for and attend say an external or employee conference, or a media interview.

Salue Stuart

Thanks for the link to our post Financial Times - is blogging good value? http://commetrics.com/?p=129

If you allow, I would like to point out three things:

a) if the article is slightly confusing to you - the explanation might be the limits of words I was able to use for that one less than 800 (I think I used 706) - a tough subject to explain in such few words, at least for me (possibly not for you as PR expert - you used 624 words to make your case here);

b) Blogging as a CEO is an expensive option because the 2-4 hours or so spent to prepare your posts, respond to comments, keep abreast new developments carries opportunity costs one should not ignore ... and doing it wrong can cause a lot of damage to your corporation's reputation;

c) the error you got on the site http://My.ComMetrics.com is not that big a surprise to me, since it is in Alpha. Naturally, the one we use for clients works nicely.... AND

- we don't allow people to register yet, whilst
- we are adding new features as you read this comment.

As a non-PR guru (in contrast to you) I focus on the software side and try to make sure it works. I hope you will come back soon and give our software another shot.

In the meantime, I took the liberty to enter your blog's URL into our database so we are tracking it as of today. Thanks again for stopping by.

Salue Urs

PS. I am looking forward getting it all explained about the value of c-suite blogging in one of your upcoming posts. I am sure you have some very valuable insights to contribute. Thanks for sharing them.
