Stuart, dead right, the industry has to become professional and learn about copyright (and other IP). Perhaps the CIPR can be more proactive in ensuring members know what they are doing. Perhaps people who are found out should be invited to do a re-training course as a defence to be used before the beak.

The deeper issue is that economies that share information grow faster and become wealthier. Who could argue that the sharing nature of the internet has not added to the wealth of wired communities.

It is this argument that the music and publishing industries have lost.
